Car Safety Tips for Pet Parents

Car Safety Tips for Pet Parents

Whether you're taking a quick drive to the vet or a road trip to a faraway destination, keeping your pet safe and secure is an important part of the journey! Read on for our top tips for car safety.

🐾 Keep pets out of the front seat: In the event of an accident, an airbag can cause serious injury or even be fatal to your pets. Keeping your fur baby in the back seat or trunk away from the airbags is essential to keeping them safe.

🐾🐾 Consider a crash-tested crate: There are many crash-tested crates on the market for pawrents looking to take extra precautions. When choosing a crate, make sure it is big enough for your pet to stand, turn around, and lie down in and that it's properly ventilated.

🐾🐾🐾 Keep pets secure! If you don't have the room for a crate, try a car harness along with a seatbelt attachment! Attaching your dog to a seatbelt or dog car seat will help them stay in place in the event of an accident (or even a hard press of the brakes!)

🐾🐾🐾🐾 Car anxiety? “Shaping” and all-natural herbs and adaptogens can be extremely effective for pets who are super stressed in the car. See this blog post for more about behavior shaping and see our stress-response support products below.
